A perfect match: a gift of love and life
Apostle Anthonee’s Rereward—the Pad to the Inkhorn Writer, Elder Jerral Patterson, has been the constant Prayer Warrior for God’s Anointed as well as to His Body. If at any time you want to know if the Lord is listening to a mere request, a cry, a moan, or just a thought, Elder Jerral, the ‘prayer intercessor’, will pull down the answer. However, this gift did not come to Elder Jerral by osmosis, yet, instead, by an illness that lead him to the lilies where prayer was translated.
“While in the valley, pick the lilies…” he hears Apostle Anthonee say while in the hospital not knowing whether he existed in the world or not. Being true to His word, God lifts Elder Jerral out of the valley and transcends him with the gift of prayer, and along with his spiritual gift, a brand-new kidney he would later understand was not gifted for him but being held for his Wo-Man parts.
A unity indeed joined by God, Elder and wife, Sis. Carrie Jean Patterson proved miracles still occur. When Sis. Carrie Jean was told that she needed a kidney transplant, she did not waver in her faith. Instead, Sis. Carrie Jean went home satisfied with her life and how she lived it, allowing the Lord to fulfill His will. Unaware of God’s plan, Apostle Anthonee went to the Patterson’s home and asked her to reconsider her decision. On a routine visit to the doctor, Elder Jerral inquired to be tested just to see if he could possibly be a match. In shock and disbelief, the physician told his wife that he, her husband was a “perfect match” to receive a kidney transplant. The two are living testimonies that God is true to His word and will always answer prayer.
As he travels higher in the Lord, his wife joins as she humbly professes, “I thank the Lord for my illness.” We are all edified in more ways than one from this union. Elder Jerral and Sister Carrie Jean add to the continued living legacy of Apostle Anthonee.
