Even in the middle, He’s with you
Elder Daman Mayim, undoubtedly a pillar of history for the Apostolic Faith. A wise man who is beyond grateful for his return to truth, realizing his end—salvation.
His journey began with Bishop S. C. Johnson, working in Cincinnati, Ohio. Over the years, Elder Mayim remained a diligent servant for God and His Church. As a young child, he met a sage woman with a familiar spirit who spoke bearing prophecy; “one day you will travel with a great preacher.” And it was even so. Elder Daman Mayim, being the dedicated man that he was, told Bishop S. McDowell Shelton that he was at his service, providing him a close relationship with the then Apostle for several years. It was during Bishop Shelton’s reign that he set Elder Mayim aside from the Apostolic Faith for decades for reasons the Elder, at the time, knew not. But God’s path and plan would soon prevail.
At the initial conversation between Apostle Anthoneé Patterson and Elder Mayim, “from his voice, I could tell he was a serious man…so serious he shut me up.” And from the first step back into the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, [he] walked in and knew it was over. All praises and gratitude belong to the Lord for sparing his life while keeping a pure and humble heart toward the Church, not charging God foolishly for what seemed an abrupt act from Bishop Shelton. Who better to have alongside Apostle Anthoneé during such a time? His words are so profound and his desire to seal souls for the kingdom is what brought Elder Mayim back to God.
Elder Mayim’s message to the Church is simple yet profound; “you’re not your own…you never get passed the scripture, ‘to this end were you born’…if your name is in the book, even in the middle, He’s with you.”
