Muddy water to cleanse the soul
While sitting in my humble home, in the small town of Ahoskie, North Carolina, my radio was tuned to hear the gospel preached by Bishop S. C. Johnson of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. I realized he spoke the eternal word of God. Therefore, I made an attempt to seek him out to receive the water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of my sins. On my way, I had an issue with my car’s engine—I did not make it to the church.
The first attempt failed, but I did not give up hope. I returned home and kept listening to him on the radio.
Bishop Johnson died, and I didn’t get the water baptism for the remission of my sins.
Bishop S. McDowell Shelton, His Holy Apostolic Blessedness, came on the scene.
Upon hearing Bishop Shelton on the radio, my spirit agreed with his, and once again, I began my quest to join this truth movement and get the water baptism. In my pursuit, unbeknownst to me, I traveled to Wilson, North Carolina circling around and around the blocks trying to find the church’s location. I got lost. So, I went back home and continued listening to Bishop Shelton on the radio.
Bishop Shelton died, and I didn’t get the water baptism for the remission of my sins.
Time went on.
Years later, Apostle Anthonee J. Patterson came on the same radio station where I’d heard Bishop S. C. Johnson and Bishop S. McDowell Shelton preach. When I heard his voice, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that this was indeed the anointed one of God. I contacted the church via telephone. Members of the body of Christ, including Apostle Anthonee, immediately traveled in a caravan from Jacksonville, Florida and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Ahoskie. Upon arrival to my home, we drove to a body of water, a muddy lake, for my baptism. While the water was murky and unclear, I finally got my soul cleansed by going down in water in Jesus name for the remission of my sins.
Hallelujah, my soul rejoiced.
I have been a faithful saint traveling with Apostle Patterson from then until now.
Through it all, God has kept me.
Thank God.
