Take him at his word
Sister Lendel Jones found herself in a state of fear because of the news she received from her physician. She called upon God’s angel, Apostle Anthonee, for prayer and words of encouragement. He advised her to leaf through the scriptures and the Holy Ghost would lead her to what she needed. When she did, his words were true—she was led to read the 11th Chapter of Hebrews—which is all about Faith!
In December 1995, Sis. Lendel was diagnosed with a polyp on her uterus. A few days after reading Hebrews 11, she began hemorrhaging from the polyp biopsy and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance. This episode caused her to lose nearly two pints of blood, and the physician planned a procedure to replenish it.
As God would have it, Apostle Anthonee called the hospital to check on her progress. As Sis. Lendel began to explain the situation, he asked her, “What do you want?” She said emphatically—while looking at the blood they’d brought into her room in preparation for the procedure—she did not want it. He said, “So be it, you will be going home today.” She took him at his word.
When the phlebotomist came back into the room with her chart, he shook his head in disbelief, commenting that he’d never seen anything like this in his life—the blood she had lost, she did not need one drop! He explained that her red and white blood cell count was fine, and her hemoglobin levels were normal. God replenished her blood. There was no need to give her someone else’s. What’s more, she was able to go home that day—just like the man of God said!
Sis. Lendel can attest that there have been a number of times when her faith was tested in life, but she does not waiver. Whether it’s replenishing her blood or putting food on the table, God always answers and provides. She holds on to Hebrews 11 as her anchor and her strength to rely on faith.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen: Hebrews 11:1
